Summary Profile

Vivian Spyropoulou is a PhD Candidate in Political Science at Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, Athens, Greece. Her research interests include Comparative Politics, Radical left political parties in Europe, Electoral Sociology and party theory. She holds a B.A. in Political Science and History from Panteion University (2006), an M.A. in Political Science from Panteion University (2008) and an M.A. (Master 2 Recherche) (2011) in South European Politics and Regimes from Université Montpellier I, Montpellier, France. She has received scholarships for excellence from Greek State Scholarships Foundation (I.K.Y.), Alexander S. Onassis Public Benefit Foundation, Conseil Regional du Languedoc Roussillon in Montpellier and NOVA University of Lisbon. She is the author of articles and chapters in edited volumes in Greek and she has co- authored paper in Oxford Bibliographies. She has participated in various conferences in Greece and abroad. She worked as a research assistant in the project “Democracy in Times of Crisis: Power and Discourse in a Three-Level Game” conducted by NOVA University of Lisbon, a researcher at the “Consortium of European Social Science Data Archives (CESSDA) - Greek research infrastructure for the social sciences (SO.DA.NET.)” and a researcher in various political polling companies in Greece. She has also worked as an assistant electoral analyst for the 2015 and 2019 national elections (Alpha Tv and Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT). She is member of the Hellenic Political Science Associaton and speaks four languages: Εnglish, French, Spanish and Italian.
