Nikolas I. Tzimos holds a PhD on Comparative Politics and Political Sociology from Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, Political Science and History Department. He conducted his doctoral dissertation, under the supervision of professor Ioannis Voulgaris, on Why and how parties change?: a comparative study of organizational transformation in British Labour Party, in French Socialist Party (PS) and the Hellenic Socialist Party (PASOK).

He studied (BA) Political Sciences in Thessaloniki (Greece) (Department of Political Sciences) and (Master2) Political Philosophy and Sociology in Paris (Université Paris 7 Denis Diderot). In his Master dissertation studied the integration of Hispanics into the American nation under the light of changes of 9/11. He is interested in party change both organisational and ideological, European Social Democracy, and the emergence of insecurity (mostly cultural) as a cleavage.

He has taught as a scientific (2017-18) and as a scientific fellow (2019-20) associate in the University of Western Macedonia. He has participated as campaign manager and strategist in various electoral campaigns both national (2012, 2015, 2019) and local (2019). Since March 2020 is working in the Regional Observatory of Social Inclusion and Social Cohesion in of the Region of Western Macedonia in Kozani, Greece.
