Right turn for Europe?
Right-wing populism, extremism, and the European elections
17-18 March 2014, Cologne
Right-wing populist and right-wing extremist parties have hopes of gaining votes in the forthcoming European elections. Are these hopes justified? Will Islamophobia, nationalism and a hostile attitude to the EU gain ground in the new European Parliament? These and many other issues were addressed at an international conference organised by the German Federal Agency for Civic Education, with renowned experts among them Professor Vassiliki Georgiadou, who presented a joint paper written with Lamprini Rori with the title "Economic crisis, social and political impact: the case of Greece".
