Summary Profile

Constantinos Pierides is an adjunct lecturer in the Department of Balkan, Oriental and Slavic Studies at the University of Macedonia. He holds a PhD in Political Science (Panteion University, Political Science and History Department). His research is focused on the study of social and electoral cleavages in Greece of the late ‘Metapolitefsis’ (2004-2018). He also holds an Msc in European Politics and Governance from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He has worked as a researcher for the National Centre of Social Research (ΕΚΚΕ) in the framework of the projects: "Research, Education and Infrastructure: the triangulation of the axes of strategic development of EKKE (REDI)" and "Dynamic Management of Social Data Databases and Cartographic Representations - Socioscope of Social Data". He has also worked as a political analyst for the opinion polling company ‘Public Issue’, as an account executive for the Market Research firm ‘Alternative Research Solutions’, as well as an editor for various newspapers and websites. His research interests lie on cleavage theory, electoral behavior, political parties and social movements.
