Abstract: By examining New Democracy‟s discourse this paper highlights the particular characteristics that contribute to the formation of the populist subject in the context of national- populist discourse, hence examining on what basis the construction of the people takes place.

“The National-Populism of New Democracy: the case of May 6th Elections 2012” (paper presented at POPULISMUS International Conference titled “Populism and Democracy”, Thessaloniki, Greece, 26-28, June, 2015)

Abstract: With the method of discourse analysis, this paper discusses the articulation of national-populist rhetoric from the president of New Democracy, Antonis Samaras, during the pro-electoral period of the critical elections of May 6th 2012.

With Pavlos Papadopoulos “Hegemony, Neoliberalism and Conflict” (paper presented at the International Students of History Association (ISHA) seminar “Conflict Situations and Their Consequences”, ISHA Sofia, Sofia, Bulgaria, 22- 26 May, 2014).

Abstract: The paper discusses the subject about the interconnection between hegemony, neoliberalism and conflict with an insight on the model of rational leader. My contribution is focused around the case of Antonis Samaras and his rationalist leadership within the party of New Democracy.
